The Inclusive Finance Investment Readiness Training Program officially kicked off at Hang Hub, Rubavu, bringing together passionate entrepreneurs from across the district for a 10-day learning and growth journey. The program, themed “Strengthening Rwandan Agri-MSMEs through Inclusive Finance,” aims to equip small and medium enterprise owners with the skills and tools needed to attract investment, improve financial management, and build sustainable businesses.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Mayor of Rubavu District, who emphasized the importance of empowering local entrepreneurs to drive inclusive economic growth. The event also featured warm welcome remarks from the Executive Director of Business Imanzi (IBI), who highlighted IBI’s continued commitment to supporting Rwandan MSMEs through capacity-building initiatives.
In addition, Sylvia from ADA shared her insights on the value of inclusive finance and the long-standing partnership between ADA, LuxDev, and IBI in fostering entrepreneurship across Rwanda.
Following the official opening, entrepreneurs dived straight into Day 1, which focused on Project Management and Target Market Identification. The sessions encouraged participants to think critically about their business goals, understand their markets, and manage projects effectively. Later in the day, entrepreneurs formed groups to collaborate and apply the day’s lessons to real-life business scenarios, promoting teamwork and peer learning.
Day 1 concluded with presentations where each group showcased their ideas, reflecting creativity, innovation, and practical understanding. The energy, enthusiasm, and collaboration in the room set a positive tone for the next nine days of intensive learning, experience sharing, and business development.
Over the coming days, participants will continue exploring key topics such as Financial Literacy, Business Planning, Risk Management, Governance, and Investment Readiness,all designed to strengthen the capacity of Agri-MSMEs to access finance and scale their impact.
