From Data to Leadership — Building Financial and Strategic Capacity for Agri-MSMEs (29 September – 03 October 2025)

Following an impactful first week (Day 1-5), the next days (Day 7-10) of the Investment Readiness Training Program resumed in Musanze from 29 September to 03 October 2025, continuing the mission of strengthening Rwanda’s Agri-MSMEs through inclusive finance and practical learning.

💻 Deepening Digital and Financial Skills

The week opened with a recap of the previous sessions, then transitioned into hands-on exercises focused on data collection, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making. Entrepreneurs learned how economic data can guide business performance and long-term planning.

🌾 Leadership and Governance for Growth

Midweek sessions centered on Leadership in Agribusiness: Driving Growth, Innovation, and Sustainability, and Governance in Agribusiness: Principles, Structures, and Impact. Trainers emphasized the importance of strong leadership and effective governance in fostering transparency, accountability, and innovation in the agribusiness sector.

A major highlight was the business pitching session, where entrepreneurs confidently presented their business ideas to trainers and peers, applying everything they had learned about communication, structure, and investor readiness.

💬 Managing Teams and Negotiating Opportunities

Entrepreneurs later explored employee compensation, performance management, and statutory documentation for MSMEs in Rwanda. They also mastered negotiation techniques and stakeholder coordination, learning how to secure partnerships, attract financing, and strengthen business networks.

💸 Understanding Taxation

As the week advanced, focus turned to taxation and compliance. Trainers walked participants through income tax, VAT regulations, penalties, and how timely filing promotes credibility and sustainability. Entrepreneurs practiced how to prepare tax records, identify common errors, and manage business finances transparently.

🌟 Wrapping up the Journey

The training concluded with a reflection session where entrepreneurs demonstrated how much they had gained, from digital literacy and leadership to financial management and tax compliance.

Many shared how the two-week experience transformed their mindset and business approach, equipping them to operate professionally and attract investors.

Business Imanzi and ADA Microfinance reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Rwanda’s MSMEs, ensuring that inclusive finance continues to empower local entrepreneurs, especially those in agriculture, to build sustainable futures.
